(More customer reviews)Recommended to me by my pet opthamologist. This product works much better than over the counter 'artificial tears' products meant for humans, the effects of which tend to make the animal less comfortable (probably stings more) and fade quickly leaving the dog's eye even more dry than before they were applied. I-drops keep the eye lubricated for several hours and seem to bother the pet less when applied. I highly recommend this product for dogs with dry eye, damaged eyes or for adding a little comfortable lubrication when having to add a lot of ointments or medications to the dog's eye (remember to wait 10 minutes when using with other meeds to avoid washing them away with the drops). It works!

Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) is the most common eye disorder and is the result of a decline in the quantity or quality of tears produced. There are two types of tears produced in the eyes: lubricating tears that moisturize and protect your pet's eyes from infections and reflex tears are a response to environmental stimuli (dust, smoke), or injury. Interestingly enough, 'watery' eyes can be a symptom of KCS. Irritants that cause KCS can trigger the production of reflex tears. However, since reflex tears do not have the proper lubricating composition, the discomfort remains. Common causes of KCS include: aging, hormonal fluctuations, environmental conditions, disease and medication complications
