(More customer reviews)I don't know whether this is the same brand I used to get or what but when I stared using the martindales they were perfect.
But I ordered this brand, not from this supplier but from a amazon seller. And they have changed the specs on them. The chains are way too big and too long. you need to leave the collar way too loose to avoid the dog choking themselves too easily. The directions are adjust the band to where when the chain is pulled tight there is an inch of chain. Well the chains are now so long that they are half the length of the collar itself. and they hang way down and the dog can just almost lean over and the collar comes off.
I bought my first from petsmart and it was perfect, but I went back and their new models are like this too. It is really a shame for something that worked too well to have been redesigned probably by a contractor for cost reasons to be totally ineffective.
I just ordered some of the totally nylon (no chain) and they will be coming today. Because as I was working today my puppy got hers off and chewed it thru as she did the other one off her big sister. My fault for not watching but if they were not as loose it would not have happened.
But the idea behind these is great for dogs that have learned to back out of their collars. But the change in design just ruined them.
