(More customer reviews)I bought some Honest Kitchen Embark for my two miniature poodles and they really love the food. Then I saw an offer for a free sample of Zeal. They also love this food and the ingredients are very good for them. I've started feeding them grain free foods for the past year or so since one of the dogs has bad allergies. But most grain free foods contain white potatoes which are very high carbohydrate. The allergic dog can tend to overweight so I also try to limit her carbohydrate intake. Zeal is one of the lowest carbohydrate foods HK makes. The food is very easy to re-hydrate. Just add equal amounts of food and water, stir, and wait 5-10 minutes. That 5-10 minutes is sheer torture for my dogs as they sit at the base of the cabinet and stare up at their bowls.

Zeal was crafted specifically for sensitive dogs. What was left out of this diet is almost as important as what is in it. Zeal, like other Honest Kitchen diets, contains no corn, soy, rice, beet pulp, or wheat. It is also grain-free, gluten-free, and free of flaxseed and white potatoes. Suitable for adult maintence; sensitive dogs; moderate activity levels. The fish is guaranteed Ethoxyquin-free. The Icelandic Haddock is wild caught using a line and hook, in the cold clean waters off the coast of Iceland. The Blue Whiting is wild-caught in the waters of Scandinavia and the Arctic. It is one of the most abundant fish stocks in the semi-pelagic water masses of the northeast. The wild-caught Salmon is freeze-dried to preserve the naturally high oil content; salmon is a wonderful source of essential fatty acids.
