(More customer reviews)I actually don't own any reptiles, but I do own this bulb. I use it as a bias light for our home theater. I have a light fixture behind the monitor that is plugged into the switched outlet on the receiver - that way the light comes on whenever the receiver is turned on. It shines behind the monitor and illuminates the back wall which is painted a neutral gray. The pictures looks awesome.
It has the appropriate color temperature for this use (6500K) and at 18W it's not too bright.
