(More customer reviews)We had the 'older' models from about 15 years ago. After many trips to the lakes & beaches, it was time to upgrade. The newer model is great, with the rubber handles, etc. They don't slip out of your hands as easily as the older ones. My 2 mini dachshunds love going for walks in our neighborhood park and they have the feeling of running loose with the 16' cords. Then you pull them back in when people or other dogs are around. Wouldn't trade them for anything.
