my brother has 2 Uromastyx. and we had them for about 2 years. we noticed one was acting different. he wasn't eating he barely moved then the other one wasn't eating. soon after we noticed there was no droppings in the cage for a week..... meaning they weren't eating. the one would still move around but we noticed the other one would move as if his legs were broke (all of them). he looked like a sea turtle on wailing his arms to get in the sea.
anyways we took him to the pet store and the lady said try these lights out. now we've been to every pet store and we've asked repeatedly what do you recommended to buy and we were given different lights every time. this lady took one look and said he has a bone disease, is suffering from lack of UV-B rays and said he should be twice his size. my lizard was the size of a 3 month old and was 2 years old. She said try these lights and you MAY see a difference in mobility and eating habits. they wont grow but it may help. our lizards were suffering from a lack of UV-B rays and the one was starting to develop a bone disease.
put the lights in and within days we noticed increased activity. a few weeks later they were eating normal again. a few months later we noticed Fred (the one with bone disease) made a full recovery. he runs with the best of them.
This light saved my pets.
