Before I found the Floating mirror from Zoo Med, I tried to make something like this.
I purchased a small round mirror, put a wire on it, and the best I can do is hang it on the side of the aquarium.
Because this mirror floats, it can move around freely.
So your bettas will be able to "exercise" properly: chasing, dancing, and moving around with the mirror.
It's a very simple product, sturdy built, I recommend it.
