(More customer reviews)Our leopard gecko uses this as his humid hide. It helps him feel safe, I can see if he is inside, it keeps out the light, holds humidity, and retains heat. By early evening, he will rest with his head sticking out of the hole. And by nighttime, he leaves.
The unit is two pieces that makes cleaning and filling with a substrate (such as moss) a little easier than your typical hide.

(More customer reviews)This item works well with my aquarium, I have a 20 gallon saltwater aquarium. I just set up my aquarium about 6 weeks ago and the temperature has been 2-4 degrees too high. When I placed the aquarium cooling fan on the back it reduced the temperature 2-3 degrees. This fan works as a cheaper alternative to a chiller which can cost $200-$400 unless a dramatic decrease in temperature is needed. The only complaint is after a week of daily use when turning it on in the morning it tends to make a loud buzzing sound. If you tap the back of the unit with your hand once or twice it will stop.

The product is just what my turtles needed so that they can come out of the water to bask. The only odd thing is that when it arrived (in its original packaging) it was kind of oily and sandy feeling, but I just washed it off.

Whatever it is they put in these things, apparently it's really tasty. She's indifferent to the usual kind of treats, like canned tuna or catnip, but she really, really loves these joint treats. They're a bit big, though, so they're a little hard for her to eat without the treat rolling around or falling out of her mouth quite a bit before she finally consumes it, but she likes the taste so much, that little difficulty doesn't seem to bother her. She's been on joint treats for over a month now, and she doesn't seem to be experiencing any more arthritic pain, so it seems to be working well, too.

This Carbon Insert is the reason why the excellent Zoo Med filter is selling on clearance.
Basically, this insert is a bag of carbon which has been machined into smooth pellets. The smooth surfaces fail to allow for the absorption of organics, and it left my tank with a high ammonia content for weeks. It doesn't work.
Go to the pet store, buy a nylon bag and over-the-counter activated carbon chips. The chips have rough porous surfaces which increase the absorption rate. This makes the Zoo Med filter run exceedingly well; transparent water and ammonia at zero.

We looked at several pet stores in our area and couldn't find anything that he would not outgrow in a year. So we went online and found this cage, and decided to try it out. It was easy to assemble, all the parts were there, and most importantly Geo (the tortoise) is enjoying it immensely. It provides a den to hide in, plenty of room to roam, and protection. The only draw back I have found that if it gets damp (water bowl spillage) the wood can warp a little and the divider won't fit right. We had this happen, so we took a clamp and held it in place while it dried...worked like a charm.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this for my XL Zoo Med terrarium. It fits like a glove! This background arrived a little bit bowed out, but that is expected for natural cork that is normally curved. I used 100% clear silicon to mount it and stacked rocks on top of it while it cured to flatten it out. It really makes a major difference in the appearance of your enclosure when you have this background. It also gives your animals something nice to climb on and feel secure. I am keeping a young R. leachianus or leachie gecko in my terrarium. I'll be buying more backgrounds for my other enclosures. I also keep gargoyle geckos, and crested geckos. I'll post pics of my terrarium on my site thegeckopad . com. I will also try to put a photo up on amazon so you can see what the background looks like mounted. Make sure you order this from a good seller as the seller I bought mine from was very slow in shipping and shipped AFTER the expected arrival date that they quoted me.

(More customer reviews)I have used these bulbs in a number of reptile cages for a few years. they always last over 8 months. except one one occasion where i had a short in a cage power supply. alot of pppl have premature burn outs. this could be from a few factors, poor power supply to the cage, too hot of an area, or wrong fixture. u cant screw it into any fixture and hope it works. u need a good strong stable current, and u CANNOT USE A RHEOSTAT!
i personally ove the bulbs, they have always done great. ad the act as both a UVB source and heat source.
i use them in 2 bearded dragon cages, a frilled dragon cage, and a enclosure for my 2 Argentine B&W Tegu's

Now with the emitter his house is comfortable warm. I considered getting the 150W but decided on the 100W and I think it works fine. I think the 150W would be too hot. This is basically what the sold as a dog house heater but without the metal covering. Wish I have known about it years ago.

Extremely easy to set up and use, this unit allows you to cycle a heat lamp or ceramic heater (or a matt or heat tape for that matter) on and off at the optimal temperature. You can easily set it to turn off at a lower temperature for a night drop, necessary for many species. The unit is also very easy to mount, and the probe is at the end of a long, thin black cord which is completely unobtrusive in any terrarium or cage setting.
