(More customer reviews)I actually purchased this feeder (medium size, bronze, without extension legs) for my two cats. they're fairly big/tall, and I thought the bowls on the small feeder (supposedly for cats) were too small. So I went with the medium (which would also be suitable for most small dogs -- - recommend jack russell terrier height or smaller.) It is probably too tall for chihuahuas, and puppies. Again, this is without the extension legs.
As with all online purchases, I recommend you review product dimensions carefully. Make sure the item will fit where you want to put it. Measure your pet's neck height to see if it's a comfortable height for him/her.
The whole thing is dishwasher safe if a bit awkward to fit in the dishwasher. I just wash mine by hand.
The color is a dark bronze. The bowls are stainless steel, easy to see when they're dirty, easy to wash.
Most importantly, it does what you buy it for -- it keeps any stray food or water within the feeder instead of on the floor. The feeder is very stable. I've kicked it already, and it scooted a few inches but sustained no damage, spilled no food. It has eliminated my need to wipe up the floor around the bowl.
I am very pleased with my purchase. My only suggestion is that for a slightly higher price point, the company should consider designing a similar unit with less plastic/a little more elegant. Because of the way my kitchen is laid out, I need to place this feeder just outside the kitchen (in the living room.) If there were a more modern design/upscale option, I would probably go for it.
