Because it is not synthetic, your dog will be snug without becoming uncomfortably hot. My female miniature poodle is 16 lbs with a back length (base of neck to base of tail) of about 12 inches. The perfect size for her is the medium Zak and Zoey hoodie. My male miniature poodle is 19 lbs with a back length of 14 inches and he also wears the medium. My dogs wear these for pjs since our home is cold at night in the winter. They are very durable and wash well.
